Hi all,

Finally reached Delhi on 07th May 12:30 PM amidst lot of confusion and chaos caused by poor Air Indian pilots. 

The earlier day was just forgettable. We had AI 658 scheduled to Delhi on 6th may at 6 pm. We reached on time-Papa, Ma, Leon and me. Flight was on time as per helpline in the  morning. Fun stated when we reached to check in at 1A. We learned flight is cancelled. they tried 

658 on 6th was cancelled. We were sent to 1B after AI staff's  requests to accommodate us in other airlines were turned down. We were told there is AI staff who would help us to connect with other flights. No use. They put few stamps on our itinerary and sent us to International airport stating there was an Air India international flight scheduled to go at 8 PM. There was a bigger chaos.After a futile efforts of pleading with AI staff for 45 minutes we were told they were helpless.

The day we all were waiting for so anxiously seemed to be gone with the wind.

We went back heavy-footed to 1A again. It was almost 8 PM. We should have been in Delhi if things would have happened normally. After another 45 minutes, Papa went from ticketing counter with rescheduled ticket of AI 864 for next day morning 10 AM. It was 'likely' to go to Delhi as scheduled. We all had been so exhausted that we sat there for some while having snacks and thinking of next What-If scenario.

We returned home around 10:30 pm and slept instantaneously. We had to start next day early.

7th May- we reached airport at 6 AM. We moved to check in counter immediately. I admire AI staff for their patience and meticulous working. While other airlines won't put more than 2-5 minutes in check-in process, AI Uncle put in good 30 mins in our check in process. They have good team spirit and don't hesitate to take help when they need. After struggling with required commands to key in, AI uncle  pulled an antique piece of paper, where he must have scribbled the computer commands and syntax required to key in for check-in process taught in years' old training.

Ma moved to Baby care with Leon, while I headed to kids corner, where some toys were kept. We received a call from AI at 7 AM, the flight 864- is...(heart begins to sink..) .. advanced to 9:30 AM.  Little happiness.

Finally, boarded at 9:00 AM. In fact this was the time we realized that this flight may really take off. At 10:00 AM Pilot uncle informed that they were waiting for 8 passengers and their ground staff has not allowed him to take off without them, so what if other 180 passengers were waiting in plane for 1 hour. I admire AI for their concern for those who may miss the flight. The plane took off at 10:30 AM.

All well if end is well. We reached DEL at 12:30 PM. 

Uncle and Aunt were there to receive us. We had a great time there. 

Another night, early to bed as we have to board Shatabdi at 6 for KNP.
